I understand that people in America are observing one of their traditional pagan fire festivals today, but none of that factored into the sacred merriments of the Subgenius. The activities started today, for all I could tell, around one o’clock with more Hours of Slack and yet another auction of weird crap, at which I was outbit for a Urantia book but successfully scored an audiobook of George W. Bush’s unauthorized autobiography, “Destined for Destiny.”
More important than this potentially life-changing recording that will help me become more presidential in behavioration and speechifying, I gained friendship. I met someone I’d been chatting with on alt.slack for a year, Reverend Eggplant, and met someone entirely new, Reverend Comma Door (heh, its a pun). I was awarded with free booze for saying something clever. I danced with dancing ladies. and tomorrow I shall either be transubstatiated onto the Pleasure Ships of the Sex Goddesses from Planet X, or hang out and get to see an Amino Acids concert!
also, I was mistaken about Rude Guy. he was not trying to convey some behavioral mandate but steer me towards the available sources of entertainment at the time: drive-in movie or hanging out with kooks. I am shy, so at the time I chose the movie, but today for fun I chose hanging out, and had a damn good time doing it. Rude guy is not, in fact, rude. he is mostly soft-spoken and withdrawn, but is hilarious on stage, and has a knack for herding SubGenii (through Bullhorn-fu), something only slightly more difficult than herding cats, because while cats can be easily drawn to a particular spot by standing there and opening a can of tuna, SubGenii, particularly in the early hours like 1pm, are drunken surly misanthropic saucer-cultists with an intuitive talent for mockery and, in some cases, proficiency in martial arts and/or marksmanship. The fact that the man with the bullhorn has gone unharmed for years is a testament to the fact that he is really a nice guy.

I get no free booze for clever comments, but I try… how I try…
