That’s right, my droogies, Dok Holocaust is at X-day. well, sort of. right now he’s in an air-conditioned hotel room with highspeed internet access after witnessing/participating in some of the setting-up at X-Day, The Church of the SubGenius’ annual End of the World Party.
This year, we are predicting the end of the world for Saturday, July 5th, 2008 at 7:00AM, when the Xist pleasure-ships arrive to save the Subgeniuses and use the rest of the planet’s population for fuel and/or food.
i came back to get my cooler and figure out what to do for dinner, because X-day is not a big commercial event with on-site food vendors and it gets kinda hot out there. eating at the hotel seems a bit absurd, and i did that for lunch, anyway.
I forgot to pack the USB cable for my camera, so no pics yet, but, provided the world successfully fails to end for the 11th straight year, I can share them once I get home tuesday or wednesday)

They did serve some food there. The $5 breakfast special was a life saver!

the food service was pretty sporadic, as I recall. the Blue Lady Cafe on the grounds was all boarded up on Wednesday when I arrived, and while I’d heard it had been open at various points, it was always closed when I approached.
but I was a slacker and just got breakfast at my hotel anyway, then picked up sandwiches in Lakewood on my way to Brushwood each day afterwards.

I wish I’d started reading here, instead of several posts up… it all makes sense now (mostly)! What a facsinating life you have, Dok. I just sit in my office alone all day, writing and here you are out with naked people, waiting for the end of the world! Cool :)
