Question for the pagan-inclined in the audience: do you think it is intentional that May Eve/beltaine/walpurgisnacht falls immediately before National Masturbation Month?
for people affiliated with National Masturbation Month: does all the wanking I do the rest of the year not count, then, or something? I don’t really pay much attention to what month it is when I’m yankin’ my crank, yanno? I’m more interested in… umm… lots of other things, really.
and in honor of this festive season (I like it better than the holiday shopping season already), I will share with you all one of those things. Guts, by Chuck Palahniuk, a short story celebrating the reason for the season. First appearing in some Playboy issue or other, then manifesting in his short-stories-inside-a-frame-narrative thing “Haunted,” this is one of those little stories that gets inside your head and stays there for years.
